CIGIU Was Invited to Shishi, Fujian for Investigation

 On Feb 24^th, William Liu, the Secretary General of CIGIU, and his party were invited to Shishi, Fujian for investigation. They also discussed the development of graphene industrialization with the leaders of Shishi City as well as some famous local entrepreneurs.

Zhu Qiping, Secretary of Shishi Municipal Party Committee, stated that he hoped to establish “Shishi Graphene Application and R&D Center” with the help of technical force of CIGIU platform and to connect market, enterprise and technology together on the basis of their abundant industry to arm companies with advanced materials, promoting development through technological innovation.

 William Liu, the Secretary General of CIGIU, introduced a part of their technological resources, and proposed to establish a ‘three suitable’ graphene industrial development base in Shishi (‘three suitable’ here refers to suitable for living, researching and producing). He said that Shishi should work with local advantageous industries to jointly promote the industrial upgrading, realize industrialization of existing graphene composite materials to cultivate a batch of new-generation companies with independent intellectual property rights and new graphene patents in line with the international market.

    On Feb 24^th and 25^th, the inspection team conducted field researches on a group of excellent private enterprises. The industries involved including communications equipment, textiles, precision manufacturing, special packaging and so on. All of them are in the industrial leading position in their respective fields. The responsible people all expressed their willing to further cooperate with CIGIU to make graphene composite materials able to be used by thousands of households.

During the investigation and visit of CIGIU in Shishi, the two sides conducted a pragmatic and efficient exchange and discussion, and both sides hoped to jointly build a graphene R&D central base in Shishi, which is suitable for living, researching and producing. They would upgrade and optimize the existing industries to bring about the development of the graphene industry in China.
